Easy Ways To Raise Your Vibe

The following are some of the easy techniques I use to raise my personal vibration and awareness. Feel free to comment and share your own ways of raising your vibe!

*Silence ~ Talk less, listen more. How can you listen to inner guidance if you are speaking all the time? I’ve found most people are on ego auto-pilot, talking to hear themselves, and mostly it’s negative. Cultivate self awareness. Ever wonder why monks take vows of silence?

*Stop Complaining ~ When you do speak be aware of perpetuating negativity and challenging situations by talking about it.

*Screen Fasting ~ In my home we have regular screen fasts for a week at a time. You’ll be amazed at the creativity kids – and adults – will explore without the option of sitting hypnotized in front of a screen! We include computer screens and game boys as well. I have not had cable for years, so we rent movies we want to see. This avoids the consumerism promoted as well as hours of aimlessly flipping channels. I have a whole list of reasons not to watch t.v., but that will be another whole article!

*Media Fast – Take your screen fast one step further and eliminate all of it. I have not read a paper in many years other than art & theatre listings, and it’s been even longer for television news shows. People ask me “How do you know what’s happening in the world?” Someone always calls me when there’s something I need to know, but I choose not to feed myself with the fear and darkness which ‘news’ shows promote. I don’t believe it’s all the truth, and at the very least it’s only one subjective view of the world. It’s not mine.

*Eat Live Food ~ Processed foods containing dyes, preservatives, hormones, pesticides, GMO’s, bleached flour, refined sugar, high fructose corn syrup, and all the rest have got to go. Live fruit and veggies contains a living energy which feed your body. There are so many resources online on studies of this fact, and how diet is the key in healing and illness, behaiviors, and cancers. This really is a no brainer. Love your body. Get help if you need to, but nurture yourself with food. Don’t stuff old emotions and issues with it.

*Water Blessing ~ Bless and thank all water you use for drinking, cooking, and bathing. Google Dr. Emoto for ideas on this, and why it’s so important.

*Smudging ~ The doing of it brings your awareness into the now, with a conscious focus of clearing. Instant vibe raiser!

* Hug a Tree ~ I know, I know, I’m a shameless tree hugger. But the benefits far out-weigh any embarrassment of getting caught.  Trees protect us from emf’s, help us in grounding, and can re-fuel us with beautiful Earth energy. There is a palpable energy exchange which takes place.

*Get rid of the clutter ~ Okay, so this may take more than 5 minutes, but your surroundings are an outward manifestation of what’s going on inside of you. Yes, this one is hard to face at times but an important one. We all have our own messes to clean inner and outer. Maybe your mind is playing a tape on a mental loop of negative thoughts and overwhelm. Time to hit the eject button pull the tape out and reprogram with some up-lifting thoughts and self love. A good tool I use is to put post-its on the bathroom mirror, dashboard, and bedside with positive quotes or thoughts. I also have printed them from my computer with large, bold,  artsy fonts and put them in small picture frames around the house. Every time I read them I’m reprogramming my mind to think positive.

*Connect ~ Look people in the eyes as you speak, stop to pat the dog on the street and talk to the owner. Smile as you pass people. (And I don’t mean that fake, close-lipped grin that folks do!) Listen to the wind in the trees, the birds sing, the dog bark, the cat purr, your breath moving in and out of your body, the waves crash on the rocks, feel your feet on the grass/sand/ocean/pavement. Be present. Pay attention to the life all around you right now. Focus on what’s good and right.
